A Commission Contract generally includes:

Payment Terms and Agreement: This section outlines the payment agreement. For commissioned works, it is customary to request fifty percent of the agreed-upon price upfront and the remaining fifty percent upon completion of the commission and before shipping the artworks.

Copyright Ownership: This section specifies that the artist retains copyright ownership of the work upon its completion. It may also include stipulations regarding whether the work can be exhibited, loaned, etc.

Artwork Proposal: This section provides a detailed description of the commissioned work, including any prototypes, sketches, or examples of similar work.

Termination Agreement: This section outlines that the agreement between the artist and commissioner cannot be terminated. In the unlikely event of termination, a payment of 50% of the total price will be required to compensate for the time invested in research and art materials.
