The Power of Thoughts: Shaping Reality and Embracing the Present

Our thoughts are like invisible threads weaving the fabric of our reality. This idea, the power of thoughts has been discussed endlessly, often tied to spirituality and the concept of manifestation. I

t’s inspiring to set goals and envision achievements, yet we frequently lose ourselves in the pursuit, neglecting the present moment.

Why is it that we rarely savor the now?

The other day, someone asked me, “What do you do on days when you’re not inspired? Does that happen to you?” My answer was simple: “Yes, of course it happens, but I keep going.” Over the years, I’ve learned, though not always perfectly, to step back and shift my energy. Sometimes it means going for a walk, enjoying a coffee at the bar next door, or even calling it a day to return with fresh eyes next day.

It’s not about forcing creativity; it’s about managing energy.

Regardless of the activity, the key lies in self-awareness, truly knowing yourself and learning to guide your thoughts and emotions. Artists, for instance, are often in touch with their feelings but may struggle to navigate them. This doesn’t just apply to art; it’s a universal truth.

The secret is to make time daily to connect with your inner self. Whether through meditation, gardening, or simply sitting with a warm cup of tea while listening to birds outside your window, these moments of stillness ground us.

They remind us that life isn’t something to be postponed for a distant “when” but a series of precious “nows.”

Our culture glorifies productivity and future aspirations, yet neglects to celebrate the beauty of just being. Thoughts about what’s next often overshadow the richness of the present. This mindset drains energy, leaving us anxious or unfulfilled.

But when we pause, we reclaim our power to experience life fully.

As an artist, I’ve found that inspiration isn’t a constant flame but a flicker that needs tending. On days it dims, the answer isn’t to push harder but to redirect energy, sometimes inward, sometimes outward.

The beauty of this approach is its universality: it applies to art, work, relationships, and beyond.

So, take a moment today to pause. Breathe. Feel the present without worrying about the future. Life, with all its ups and downs, is far too beautiful to waste on “what’s next.” The art of living lies in truly experiencing it.
