Suspended Faces: Beyond Fear and Time

There is an undeniable mystery that lingers within faces, silent presences that seem to speak without words, that transcend both time and space.

In this series of artworks, the face becomes more than just a physical identity; it is a fragment of the soul beautifully suspended in air, hovering between the seen and the unseen.

It emerges from a space where time does not dictate its being, where memory and eternity seem to fold into one another.

The face carries no age, no limitation, it belongs equally to the past, the present, and a yet-to-be-imagined future.

At first glance, the horns adorning their hats stand as striking, almost unsettling elements. They are inspired by antique Japanese helmets, crafted centuries ago as emblems of war, power, and intimidation. In their original context, these horns were a statement of force, a visible attempt to instill fear, and in many cases, they were fashioned from real animal horns, symbols of domination over both human adversaries and the natural world.

Yet in these works, this element is reimagined, stripped from its violent origin and recontextualized into a new realm of meaning. What once served as a weapon of fear is now transformed into a poetic gesture, reminding us not of destruction, but of the need to evolve beyond the old ways of exerting force.

In the current times we live in, such attributes of fear and imposition have little place. True strength cannot come from conquest or from harming other beings; it must arise from the well of our own individuality, from the unshakable core of who we are.

These artworks call us to reconsider what force truly means. Instead of an external act of power, it becomes an inner resource, a quiet but unbreakable strength rooted in authenticity and integrity.

The presence of these faces reminds us of the power of nature that resides within us, a force that requires no aggression, no conquest, no fear to make itself known.

We are part of the living fabric of the earth, and the more we attune ourselves to that rhythm, the more we realize that survival is not a matter of overpowering others, but of uniting with one another.

As evolving beings, it is crucial that we transcend the fears that hold us captive. Only by diving deeply into the waters of our conscious minds can we discover the infinite potential that lies within.

When the world around us feels unstable, when the structures we once relied upon seem to crumble, these artworks remind us of the necessity of inner strength.

Now more than ever, we are called to stand firm not by raising weapons, but by cultivating the radiance that shines within.

Every individual carries a unique spark, a distinct thread that, when woven together with others, creates the fabric of a new reality. It is through embracing our differences and celebrating our individuality that we can add our piece to the great puzzle of collective existence.

The materiality of the works themselves mirrors this layered journey.

Antique techniques, painstakingly applied gold leaf, fragments of fabric, layers of gesso built up one upon another, become metaphors for the construction of the self.

Just as these materials overlap and accumulate to form a textured surface, our consciousness too is shaped by layers: memories, dreams, struggles, and revelations.

The result is not a flat surface, but a multidimensional being, strong, intricate, and full of possibilities.

In these faces, suspended beyond time, we are invited to reflect not on war or conquest, but on the fragile and powerful beauty of being human.

They speak to us of a path forward where fear no longer dictates our choices, where aggression no longer defines strength. Instead, they open a space for unity, for inner resilience, and for the creation of a world where individuality is not a threat but a contribution, each face, each soul, a necessary part of a greater, harmonious whole.
