The Art of Feeling Light

There is a moment in the year when everything begins to shift—quietly, almost imperceptibly and thgis is the art of feeling light.
Spring is still present, yet something warmer starts to emerge beneath it. The air softens, the light stretches further into the evening, and we begin to feel a subtle desire to release what once felt necessary.
Layers fall away—not only from our bodies, but from within. We no longer seek the same protection. Instead, we open. The skin breathes differently, touched by a gentler warmth, and there is a new awareness of lightness, of space, of ease.
In this transition from spring into summer, our rhythms begin to change. What we crave becomes simpler, fresher—foods filled with water and color, moments that feel effortless, days that invite us to slow down and simply exist.
The body feels lighter, more fluid, as if something within us is dissolving, making room for a quieter, more natural state of being.
Nature mirrors this transformation with quiet generosity. Colors deepen, greens become more luminous, flowers unfold without hesitation. There is a sense of expansion everywhere—a soft abundance that reminds us of our own capacity to open, to bloom, to receive.
And slowly, we begin to feel drawn to water.
The ocean becomes a place of return. A space where the body can release its weight and be held without effort. When we enter the water, something shifts instantly—the mind softens, the breath aligns, and we are suspended in a moment that feels both grounding and infinite. It is here that we reconnect with a sense of origin, as if we are being offered back to ourselves, lighter, clearer, renewed.
The sun, still gentle but growing in strength, touches the skin with intention. It warms us slowly, awakening energy, recharging something deeper than the physical. There is no urgency—only a gradual unfolding, a quiet invitation to feel, to be present, to receive.
This is the essence I seek to capture in my Whispers of the Ocean series.
Within these works, fish move gracefully through layered, luminous spaces—symbols of fluidity, of surrender, of life without resistance. They exist in a world that feels both serene and vibrant, echoing that sensation of being immersed in something greater than ourselves. A place where everything flows, where nothing needs to be forced.
Surrounding them, subtle elements of nature and delicate references to Portuguese tiles create a sense of timeless beauty—an atmosphere that feels both grounded and elevated. These compositions are not only visual, but sensorial.
They invite a feeling.
In our homes, too, this transition becomes visible. Linen replaces heavier fabrics, spaces open, tables fill with fresh fruits and flowers, colors become lighter, more alive.
Beauty enters quietly into our daily rituals, transforming the ordinary into something deeply nourishing.
This season—this delicate passage between spring and summer—is an invitation.
To pause. To breathe. To release what no longer feels necessary.
And to reconnect—with nature, with beauty, with ourselves.
Because in the end, lightness is not something we find outside.
It is something we allow.
